TPO drip edge (possible) replacement

hi, hope someone can advise.  I have existing fairly flat TPO roof with drip edge extended over edge of an approximate 1x3 pine piece which itself is nailed over a wider 1x10 pine board.  The pine is showing its age and i'd like to replace it with pvc to limit future maintenance.
It looks as though drip edge is nailed into the 1x3 and/or possibly the 1x10.  So i dont think i can get away with somehow removing the 1x3 and 1x10 without damaging the drip edge or compromising the TPO edging.

Can i carefully cut out a portion of the TPO covering the drip edge, remove the drip edge, (replace the pine with pvc in the process), install a new drip edge and then re-weld a TPO strip over the new drip edge?  Seems feasible but worried about maybe having the new TPO strip over the new drip edge AND a portion of the remaining original TPO strip being lumpy.

Is it possible to maybe reheat the TPO strip covering the original drip edge to easily remove rather than cutting it out?

Hope someone can advise.  Thanks.

Joe

Hi Joe -

Can you post a few pictures of the area in question?

Thanks!
