We recently bought a 1956 dwelling with a "R C Roof" (graded to fall) on the outbuildings (a garage and room).

The R C Roof appears to be intact but some inside spots have rust.  1) Would be interested to know the lifespan of this roofing material?  Some further info is: supports facebrick building, situated in Gauteng, South Africa.

2) Would be interested to know the history of this roofing practice.

The inside has a corrugated surface seemingly from the metal that would have been used in the mould?  I can see metal pieces/nails sticking out on the side.
